Chris Roberts (13. März 1946 in München-Schwabing; eigentlich Christian Klusacek) ist ein deutscher Schlagersänger und Schauspieler sudetendeutscher Abstammung.Leben
Chris Roberts war einer der erfolgreichsten deutschsprachigen Schlagersänger in der ersten Hälfte der 1970er-Jahre. Seine Schlager und seine sonnige Ausstrahlung trafen den Zeitgeist.
Chris Roberts machte ab 1961 eine Berufsausbildung als Elektromechaniker, ab 1963 besucht er das Polytechnikum. Er war 1964 Schlagzeuger der Rock-'n'-Roll-Band „Blue Rockets“, die bekannte Lieder von Buddy Holly, den Everly Brothers oder Fats Domino nachspielten. Im Jahr 1966 wurde Roberts von Hans Bertram entdeckt, der ihm einen Vertrag bei der Plattenfirma Polydor verschaffte. Roberts’ erste Single, die Beatmusik-Nummer Babys Gone, und weitere Titel fanden zwar wenig Aufmerksamkeit, doch landete Roberts 1968 noch unter dem Namen Chris Robert mit dem Schlager Wenn Du mal einsam bist auf Nummer 15 in den Charts.
Darauf folgten bis 1972 mit Titeln wie Die Maschen der Mädchen, Ich bin verliebt in die Liebe, Hab ich dir heute schon gesagt, daß ich dich liebe und Hab Sonne im Herzen fünf Platzierungen in den Top 10.
In dieser Zeit hatte er unzählige Auftritte im Fernsehen, auch in der DDR. Anfang der 1970er-Jahre war Roberts auch als Darsteller in mehreren Schlagerfilmen zu sehen.
Als 1973 größere Hits ausblieben, wechselte Roberts zu Jupiter Records und hatte dort mit dem Ralph-Siegel-Titel Du kannst nicht immer siebzehn sein den größten Hit seiner Karriere (12 Wochen in den Top 10 bis auf Rang drei). {
versuchte er, diese Erfolge in anderen Ländern zu wiederholen, so entstanden zum Beispiel Barbara (niederländische Version von Wann liegen wir uns wieder in den Armen Barbara) sowie A mí me gusta la vida (spanische Version von Ich bin verliebt in die Liebe). Trotz zah
lreicher weiterer Veröffentlichungen bis in die frühen 1980er-Jahre konnte er an diese Erfolge nicht mehr anknüpfen. Bis heute sind ihm aber zahlreiche, vor allem weibliche, Fans treu geblieben.
Beim Eurovision Song Contest 1985 vertrat er als Teil eines Sextetts, zu dem auch Ireen Sheer gehörte, Luxemburg mit dem dreisprachig vorgetragenen Lied Children, Kinder, Enfants. Die Gruppe belegte den 13. Platz.
Privates
Von 1989 bis 2010 war er Roberts mit der Schlagersängerin und Schauspielerin Claudia Roberts verheiratet. Er hat zwei Söhne und eine Tochter und lebt heute in Nümbrecht in Nordrhein-Westfalen.
Seit Mitte der 1970er-Jahre arbeitet Roberts auch als Musikproduzent und Liedtexter und wirkte 1979 in dem Musical Sweet Charity mit.

Eine Atemberaubende Karriere, die ihresgleichen sucht. Größte Meisterleistung des erfolgsverwöhnten: Chris Roberts hat sich auch nach 30 Jahren Show-Business seine Herzlichkeit, mitreißende Lebensfreude und die Liebe zu seinem Publikum bewahrt.
Geboren wurde der Sänger, Produzent und Autor in München-Schwabing. "Meine Mutter liebte die Musik, hat mich schon früh mit ihr vertraut gemacht", sagt Chris Roberts. So kam es, daß er schon als Kind alle Erfolgsschlager der 50er Jahre aufwendig konnte. Später, mit 18 Jahren, gründete er die Rock´n Roll Band "Blue Rockets". Als Schlagzeuger und Sänger besserte er während seines Ingenieur-Studiums am "Oskar von Miller-Polytechnikum" nicht nur seine Kasse auf, sondern bereicherte auch die Münchner Musikszene, bevor ihn der Kölner Erfolgsproduzent Hans Bertram unter seine fachmännischen Fittiche nahm.
Seine Debüt-Single "Babys Gone", die 1966 erschien, wurde zwar kein Erfolg, aber der erfahrene Branchenkenner nutzte das junger Talent, um es zu schmieden. Zwei Jahre später landete Chris Roberts mit "Wenn Du mal einsam bist" seinen ersten Hit.
Plötzlich stand er im Rampenlicht. Funk und Fernsehen rissen sich um den attraktiven Sänger mit der Guten-Laune-Stimme. Sein Durchbruch war nicht mehr aufzuhalten.
Mit dem Super-Hit "Ich bin verliebt in die Liebe" schoß er sich kometenhaft in die Charts und war zwölf Jahre lang nicht mehr von dort wegzudenken. Bis heute ist er mit 63 Platzierungen, darunter 13 mal die Nummer1, einer der Spitzenreiter der ZDF Hitparade.
Titel wie "Hab ich Dir heute schon gesagt, daß ich Dich liebe", "Mein Schatz Du bis ´ne Wucht", "Ich mach ein glückliches Mädchen aus Dir" oder "Du kannst nicht immer 17 sein" sicherten ihm einen Stammplatz in den Hitparaden und den Herzen seiner Fan. Mehr noch, er wurde zum Idol für alle Teenager. Mit über 150000 Stimmen wurde er 1971 von den Lesern der größten deutschen Jugendzeitschrift zum Sänger Nummer 1 gewählt.

Kein Wunder, daß der Schlager-Liebling auch für den Film entdeckt wurde. Schon sei Zelluloid-Erstling "Wenn die tollen Tanten kommen" lockte über eine Million Besucher in die Kinos und wurde deshalb mit der "Goldenen Leinwand", der ersten von insgesamt dreien, ausgezeichnet. Bis 1985 folgten weitere zehn Filme "Unsere Pauker gehen in die Luft", "Immer Ärger mit Hochwürden" oder "Tante Trude aus Buxdehude". Die Produzenten hatten längst erkannt, daß der Publikumsmagnet Chris Roberts volle Häuser garantiert.

Chris Roberts was one of the most successful German-speaking pop singers in the first half of the 1970s. His hits and his sunny radiation met the spirit of the times.
Chris Roberts made a professional training as an electrician from 1961, from 1963 he visits the polytechnic. The private
From 1989 to 2010 he was married Roberts with the pop singer and actress Claudia Roberts. He has two sons and a daughter and today lives in Nümbrecht in North Rhine-Westphalia.
Since middle of the 1970s Roberts also works as a music producer and song script writer and helped in 1979 in the musical Sweet Charity.
